Welcome to Gulmarg Snowkings

I first started skiing with Shafat from Snowkings in 2013. We regularly travel in a group from Australia to Kashmir to ski with Shafat, generally we travel over in February. Snowkings organise everything from airport pickups, accommodation booking, lift tickets, general transport around the resort, shopping trips and any other requirements you may need, they will fix it up.

Shafats guiding skills are probably the best in Gulmarg and he will ensure you ski untracked powder and keep you safe from avalanches. He can organise Heliskiing if required. Snowkings also fix up ski rentals and avalanche airbags if needed.

I have skied around the world in Canada, USA, Australia, Japan and Europe and still I keep coming back to Kashmir as with Snowkings the experience is awesome. I would rank Snowkings as the best guiding experience anywhere in the world.

We booked our entire ski trip to Gulmarg in March 2022 as a group of Germans (9 people) through Snowking and were very satisfied. The pick-up at the airport went smoothly, as did the drive to the hotel.

As all our equipment was in Europe, we had to hire everything from skis to ski boots, helmets, ski goggles, ski trousers, anoraks and gloves. Snowking had a good selection, the material meets European standards. In addition, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful in picking out the right equipment for us.

Skiing with Snowking was then a pure joy in both sunshine and snowfall and fog. Three ski guides, who are excellent skiers, accompanied us on the slopes and were very responsive to the different skiing levels in the group. With our best, they mastered the powder deep snow descent of Phase 3, an unforgettable experience at up to 4,000 m altitude.

For us foreigners, it was extremely helpful to have a supervisor who took care of arranging ski passes, knew the terrain very well, showed us different slope options and helped us with any requests at any time. Skiing in India - a great experience with Snowking.

Huge shout-out to Sharfat and the team at Gulmarg Snowkings! We spent 8 fantastic days exploring the mountain with a group of seven. From the insane powder to a super heli-skiing day, everything was perfect.

As a father, I especially appreciated the high level of safety they maintained throughout. We loved the cozy hotel they arranged, the food was delicious and the staff made us feel like family. Thanks for the memories, Snowkings! We'll be back!

Our experience with Gulmarg Snowkings was simply fantastic, thanks in large part to Shafat, who helped us plan the entire trip from Italy to Gulmarg with great professionalism and passion. Don't usually review but feel compelled after the outstanding experience skiing this week with Snowkings. A few things stood out:

1. Transparency: Shafat was the only operator to give me an honest read of conditions (which were suboptimal) helping me to make an informed decision about dates

2. Culture / history: Shafat and Bashir taught me lots about Kashmiri culture and history and are both very articulate and happy to share.

3. Knowledge of the mountain: Shafat and his team have been guiding here for 15 yrs and know the mountain inside out which meant they knew exactly where the best snow would be.

If you're trying to find the best package operator for backcountry and touring in Gulmarg look no further.

Just book a trip already!!! Shafat will not let you down, he will find you powder turns. The terrain is gold and Shafat is the snowking for sure!

Shafat is "Our man in Gulmarg". We have been to Gulmarg three times over thirteen years. He has never failed us. Fantastic organiser, no problem to small or to big. Also a brilliant ski guide, safety first in the back country a top priority given how extreme the terrain IS.

Super Trip! Guides were super nice and definitely good skiers. They had a good understanding of the mountain face and knew exactly where to go for. Also, not taking any risks concerning avalanches - which made the group feel safe and comfortable.

Snowkings are one of the best in India for skiing, whether you are just exploring skiing or if you are serious about skiing. Feb 2022, me and my wife went for 5 days skiing course. It was a fabulous experience.

They look after everything as soon as you land in Srinagar, right from transfer, hotels and one on one skiing. In 5 days was finished plough and parallel skiing. I skied through beginners slope, slope 85, highland slope and finally phase-1. If you are serious about skiing then you know what to do.

One of the most memorable trips of my life! My friend and I had booked full package for about 9 days in February. Everything from transport to hotel and coaching was excellent! The entire team is very kind and helpful. They gave us good rental gears. The stay we booked was 3 star category and they had all the essential amenities as promised. Food was good.

Coaching was one on one and it's based on how fast we learn. We picked up real quick because the trainers are very knowledgeable and after a few days on practice slopes we went on to the bigger slopes. My trainer, Skier Atif is young and full of energy! I am so happy with the way he taught us. He pushed us to do better and supported us throughout. I can't wait to get back on the slopes with snowkings next season!
